Dr. Moran has the credentials that inspire confidence. She began her career over 25 years ago as a dental hygienist. After earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, Dr. Moran practiced general and cosmetic dentistry for over nine years. It was then that Dr. Moran became fascinated with the advancements that were being made in periodontics. She went on to complete two years of advanced postdoctoral training in periodontics at the National Naval School in Bethesda, Maryland.
Since 1993, Dr. Moran has specialized exclusively in periodontics. She is an active member of some of the most respected organizations in her field. These include the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association and California Society of Periodontists.

Dr. Moran has crafted her practice so that your visits are a comfortable, positive experience. Inside her patient friendly office, you will enjoy a variety of patient-first amenities, including freshly brewed coffee, hot cocoa, bottled water, and cheese and crackers. You can watch TV or listen to your iPod® during treatment. If the thought of sitting in a dental chair makes you anxious or afraid, you’ll be happy to know that Dr. Moran offers oral sedation, nitrous oxide and IV sedation.

Your care with Dr. Moran starts with a comprehensive dental examination and X-rays. She will then discuss her findings and present you with a recommended treatment plan.
Dr. Moran’s capabilities include:
- Dental implants — Dr. Moran offers Straumann® and Astra Tech titanium dental implants, both of which are FDA-approved and can give you a strong, confident and natural-looking smile. Dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth or to support or stabilize dentures.
- SimPlant® dental implant planning — When indicated, Dr. Moran uses the state-of-the-art SimPlant software planning system in conjunction with computed tomography (CT) to help her place dental implants at the precise location, angle and depth. This allows for the most accurate and successful dental implant surgery possible.
- Periodontal plastic surgery — If you have a gummy smile, teeth that appear too short or uneven, receding gums or visible tooth roots, Dr. Moran can help. With her artistic vision and advanced periodontal plastic surgery procedures, she can provide you with an attractive, youthful gumline. These include crown lengthening and gum grafting.
- Bone grafting & regeneration — Gum disease can destroy your bone tissue. Fortunately, Dr. Moran can restore lost bone with the use of advanced bone grafting materials, including Gem 21. Dr.Moran also performs guided bone regeneration prior to the placement of dental implants or bridges.
- Ridge & sinus augmentation — If you lose a tooth, you may eventually develop an unsightly indentation where the original tooth was located. Dr. Moran can correct this defect with ridge augmentation. This procedure can also improve the quantity and quality of tissue needed for dental implant placement. Dr. Moran also performs minimally invasive sinus lifts to build up bone prior to dental implant procedures.
- Tooth extraction with site preservation — It is not uncommon for some patients to experience loss of bone and gum tissue after tooth extraction. Dr. Moran can help prevent this from occurring by placing OsteoGraf® and a Teflon® barrier membrane material into the extraction site.
- Periodontal maintenance — Dr. Moran can keep your teeth and gums healthy for years to come by removing bacteria, tartar and infection from deep pockets around and below your gumline. She will then smooth the root, providing a healthy environment for the gums.
- Other capabilities — Dr. Moran offers pre-orthodontic care to make sure you have healthy gums prior to getting braces or to expose impacted teeth. To help prevent teeth from “drifting” back to the position they were in prior to orthodontic treatment, Dr. Moran offers a procedure called fiberotomy. It is performed near the completion of orthodontic treatment. Next, crown lengthening can be performed to make a cosmetic or restorative procedure possible, particularly for patients with broken or decayed teeth. For patients with excess frenum (mouth tissue) that constricts the movement of the tongue or lips, Dr. Moran offers a simple surgery called frenectomy.
